Third cinema is, in our opinion, the cinema that recognises in that struggle the most gigantic cultural, scientific, and artistic manifestation of out time, the great possibility of construcitng a liberated personality with each people as the starting point–in a word, the decolinization of culture…Just as they are not masters of the land upon which they walk, neocolonized people are not masters of the ideas that envelope them. p. 37
